The Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology was established in 1996 to provide distinguished educational services at the local and regional levels, while preparing graduates to assume their responsibilities, taking into account our distinguished cultural heritage and the difficult challenges facing our societies to keep pace with the industrial world. Thus, the graduate of the faculty achieves his country's goals in development and progress. The faculty is keen to qualify its graduates to work in culturally diverse environments such as many international companies present in Egypt and the region. The Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology works hard to develop professional engineers and enhance their capabilities, which leads to economic development in a manner that is responsible towards society and the environment.

Introduction:
Mechanical engineering is one of the most diverse engineering disciplines, embracing many subfields and impacting all aspects of our daily lives. One of the challenges of mechanical engineers is to invent efficient and cost-effective machines that use as few natural resources as possible to improve the lives of people around the world. Furthermore, mechanical engineers must strive to serve the needs of society without unnecessarily harming the environment, and to produce devices and systems that use energy and material resources efficiently.
The Mechanical Engineering program emphasizes the role of engineers in planning, creating machines, devices, and systems, and in the skillful management of projects. Emphasis is placed on the generation, transformation, transmission, and use of mechanical and thermal energy, including the design, manufacture, and operation of related mechanical devices. The subject of education hones students’ skills in communication, teamwork, and the use of computers and information technology. Specific human concerns are also highlighted. Non-engineering electives are available in the fields of economics, business, accounting, and history.

The Department of Architecture is concerned with providing distinguished education for students so that they can serve the state and restore the Egyptian role in building global civilization. Architectural education prepares students for professional practice, research, education, industry and government services as they relate to the design of the physical environment. The central issue in architecture is the quality of human cadres and, consequently, how to accommodate a diverse and complex set of activities. People's needs, the context of the building and the impact of natural forces must all be considered as major factors included in any building design. Creating buildings that are not only aesthetically pleasing and technically sound, but also serve as agents of development and integration within communities. Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering

Introduction:

Industrial engineering involves the synthesis and application of scientific principles to design, install and improve integrated systems of people, materials and equipment to provide the most efficient and effective operating and working environment. It combines the principles of human behavior with the concepts of engineering procedures and analysis.

Industrial engineers are involved in the measurement of work systems, methodology development and improvement, integration and applications, expert systems, ergonomics and human factors, engineering, safety engineering, reliability engineering, quality assurance, statistical analysis and control, facilities and plant layout, new product development and value engineering, concurrent engineering and project/program management, engineering economics, production planning and control, manufacturing processes, computer modeling and simulation, industrial automation and robotics, materials handling, cost control and budgeting, and operations research studies.

The industrial engineer combines the abilities of an engineer and a manager. These include an aptitude for mathematics, statistics and economics, as well as basic engineering sciences, an interest in all types of jobs, machines and people that produce goods, and the ability to analyze, synthesize and integrate technical knowledge in a practical way.

The background, experience and training of an industrial engineer give him a comprehensive knowledge of industrial problems. Mechatronics is today’s world. It is where electronics, computers and mechanics come together to bring about the automated devices we use in our daily lives, whether at home or at work. As society advances technologically, the demands for mechanical devices with embedded electronics, sensors, actuators and related systems have increased.

Mechatronics engineering draws heavily on mechanical engineering, but is a distinctly different discipline. The program provides a multidisciplinary approach with a strong focus on the design of automated devices, preparing professionally trained mechatronics engineers who can have a strong impact in industry. Mechatronics programs combine core undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering, selected electronics and software engineering with many option-specific courses in an interdisciplinary approach. Graduates have professional skills in the design and analysis of classical machines, as well as electronic devices, computer control systems and software engineering.

As such, graduates of the Mechatronics program are concerned with the design, automation and operational performance of electromechanical systems. Department of Electrical Power Engineering

Introduction:

The Electrical Power and Machines Engineering program aims to prepare engineers at the professional level to plan and design electrical power generation stations and manage renewable energy. This program is also a fundamental supporter of major development projects in Egypt and its regional surroundings. The program is designed to graduate electrical engineers specialized in electrical power and machine systems as well as the operation and control of electrical power transmission and distribution networks of different voltages. These engineers will also obtain high-tech applications in combating environmental pollution and in various industrial processes.

The study in the Electrical Power and Machines Engineering Department includes various specializations such as electrical power generation stations, electrical network systems, electrical protection systems, high voltage, electrical machines, power electronics, automatic control, electrical measurements and devices, electrical uses and installations, electrical systems planning, and smart grids.

The Computer and Software Engineering program is concerned with many areas of computing, from the design and modeling of devices used in building computer systems to the formation of large systems and computer networks, including embedded systems and computer programs. Computer and Software Engineering applications include the design of high-precision processors for embedded systems, including special devices for computing systems from microprocessors to supercomputers. Upon completion of the Computer and Software Engineering program, the student will gain a foundation in basic sciences, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, and computing hardware and software. During the final year, students are allowed to choose technical electives in one or more specializations. Electronics and communications engineers are essential to almost every industry. In fact, it is difficult to imagine a modern industry that does not need their services. With applications ranging from the very small, such as nanotechnology and biomedicine, to the very large, such as space exploration and the study of distant stars, electronics and communications engineering is the cornerstone of every new technological development. All communications networks, manufacturing plants, and hardware and software developers rely heavily on the skills and expertise of electronics and communications engineers.

The work of electronics and communications engineers typically involves design, feasibility studies, cost analysis studies, installation, operation, and maintenance of plants, processes, or equipment. In addition, a highly educated and experienced engineer may train or teach students and fellow engineers in his or her field of specialization. These engineering teachers are often actively involved in research.

The focus of the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering is on teaching, community service, and research. The faculty of the department recognizes the need to provide the graduate engineer with the appropriate background to meet the great challenges and demands of a rapidly growing country. Courses and programs have been developed accordingly. For example, third-year students are required to complete a summer internship in a local industry. These students often come back with ideas for their final year projects, which is also a requirement. The department offers an engineering program leading to a professional degree “Bachelor of Science” in Electronics and Communications Engineering.

Eligible students can complete the program in 10 semesters (5 years). All students are required to complete the basic electronics and communications courses, which prepare future engineering with the basics required by all local industries. Students are then allowed to choose from a large number of elective courses to specialize in one of the four main fields offered.

The college administration seeks to introduce and establish a culture of regular self-evaluation, continuous improvement and comprehensive quality assurance by creating a common language for the concept of quality and spreading awareness among the academic, administrative and student community in the college, in order to ensure quality, accreditation and participation in serving the environment, facing the challenges of rapid development and gaining the community’s trust in all outcomes of the education system from graduates, research and professional and community services that are consistent with national, regional and international standards. The college administration is keen to establish and activate quality assurance systems in all components of the education system in the College of Engineering and provide continuous assistance to the various departments to implement quality assurance standards in all fields and in its academic programs according to national and international standards and in accordance with the college’s mission and then qualify it to accredit academic programs in addition to accrediting it as an educational institution recognized locally, regionally and internationally. In application of the quality assurance standards for education, the College of Engineering, through the College’s Quality Assurance Unit, has implemented specific mechanisms targeting the following areas: Program and course description, targeted learning outcomes for the program, targeted learning outcomes for the course, questionnaires and various evaluation forms, course file, program and course report, continuous development, program self-evaluation scales and program self-study model, academic accreditation (local and international).
